Peter Stübinger, along with his son Daniel
in Leinsweiler, have presented a diverse
range of wines – amongst which
holds, without necessitating too much rummaging,
a number of bargains. One of these is
the fruity and striking Merlot at just EUR
6.50! The sparkling wines, like the “Muskateller
Sekt” know how to convince, the white
wines are well-structured and are designed for
the table. Our favourite, however, was the red
blend “Cuvée S” from Cabernet Sauvignon,
Syrah and Merlot with its dark-berried savouriness,
power and freshness. We see even more
potential!

Weissburgunder trocken
Spicy and floral hints on the nose; ripe apricot, yellow apple,
nutty aromas, roasted almonds, a hint of smoke and dried
ginger. Full bodied on the palate with juicy creaminess,
strong, firm structure, apple and spices on the finish. Dry
style, ideal. 13 Vol.-%. cork, €
90 2018 Muskateller Sekt trocken
Very perfumed on the nose; lemon, lavender and nutmeg. On
the palate there is a dynamic but fine mousse, juicy acidity,
yeasty flavours and a not over-accentuated sweetness. Lean
and fine in body, powerful in expression. A nice aperitif.

89 2013 Pinot Blanc extra brut
Round and balanced on the nose. Yellow fruit and lemon
zest. This sparkling wine has had seven years of lees ageing
and appears compact on the palate, but also nuanced.
Creamy with a nice spicy note and a finely integrated acid
structure that lends freshness and presence.

Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot. Dark berry
and spicy nose, tobacco, cassis, elderberry and peppery
notes, woody perfume. Substantial blend with powerful muscle
but also appropriate freshness; vivid acid vein, grippy and
ripe tannins. 13,5 Vol.-%. cork, €€

Ripe, fruity nose showing redcurrants, elderberry and cherry.
They’re also clearly pronounced on the palate where
power, spice and juice meet; the tannins are prominent and
still somewhat astringent. Good substance and resonance,
