Weingut Peter Flick was not founded
until summer 2018. After the sudden
death of Emmerich Himmel in
2017, Peter Flick initially assisted Annette
Himmel before taking over the estate at the
tender age of 27. By now Flick has completed
his craftman’s master certificate as Winzer and
wanted to start anew: “Between heaven and
hell,” he says, playing on the name of the
Hochheimer top site Hölle (=hell). “It’s a
damned good site” to start anew. His dense
Spätlese Riesling from the Kostheim site Weiss
Erd proves that we will hear a lot more from
Peter Flick. A remakable new entry!

Kirchenstück Riesling trocken
Ripe stone fruit, peach kernel, some petrol and beeswax. On
the palate powerfully built with substance and density, spice
and with fine minerality. Classic example of its style. Thickens
on the midpalate, sweet extract and also phenolic. Will
evolve. 13 Vol.-%, screwcap, €€

Mönchsgewann Riesling trocken
Ripe bouquet with ripe stone fruit, peach and passion fruit as
well as spices and a slight astringency. Full-bodied on the
palate with good volume and density, slight sweetness, ripe
acidity. Classic and of a high standard. Riesling with good
ageing potential. 13,5 Vol.-%, screwcap, €€

Riesling Spätlese trocken
Ripe and full-fruited apricot on the nose, honeydew melon,
also smoke. Full-bodied on the palate, powerfully structured,
generous, juicy and elegant with ripe, neat acidity. Maturation
in wood gives stature, elegant and with finesse. Will continue
to evolve. 13,5 Vol.-%, screwcap, €€

Riesling Spätlese trocken
Stone fruit, passion fruit and also freshly-cut pineapple on the
nose. Spicy on the palate. There is phenolic astringency and
dark tones, clear minerality. The wine testifies to its origin and
age of the vines. Deep and aromatically complex. Medium density.
