It was in 2006 that Stefan Breuer founded
his estate in Eltville with one hectare of
vines. By now, his ten hectares of vines are
almost all in the Selz valley – across the Rhine
in Rheinhessen. His top site is the Rüdesheimer
Berg with up to 40-year-old Rieslings. The
winery, however, is still in the Rheingau. Apart
from Riesling, Breuer also grows Grauburgunder,
Sauvignon Blanc, Weissburgunder,
Muskateller, Merlot, Früh- and Spätburgunder.
Breuer makes accessible wines of which
we liked his Grauburgunder “Glanzstück”
best!

Bockstein Riesling Erste Lage trocken
On the nose bright yellow fruit, petrol, dark spice, and underneath:
clear limestone minerality. Juicy fruit, supple with
fine tannic grip, pronounced fruitiness, dark, ripe notes. Complemented
by fine traction and delicately mineral acid freshness
towards the back. 13 Vol.-%, screwcap, €€
herbs and herbal components. Subtle juice, still some drying
tannin, fine etherealness and cherry fruit on the finish.

On the nose bright fruit including apricot and yellow apple,
fine minerality. Juicy and supple on the palate, sweet pear,
apple and ripe citrus notes. A little purer and stonier towards
the back; still a certain fruit sweetness on the finish.

Deep, dark cherry, plum, ivy and dark spice on the nose. On
the palate there is fluency and juice. Powerfully-built with
structure, dark fruit, herbal nuances and slightly astringent
tannin, as well as a discreet bitter note on the finish.

notes. Dark spice on the palate, some sour cherry, tar, tart

Nuanced, deep, compact and weightless with well-integrated
wood. Fine nuttiness, deliciously juicy stone fruit.
On the palate, supple with a subtle structure, gentle and
multi-layered. Fine, pronounced fruitiness complemented
