It was in 1971 that Weingut Keth started
out in the southern Wonnegau – with 2.5
hectares of vines and just 600 litres of wine.
Now, Matthias Keth is at the helm of this estate
and the vineyards have been extended to a respectable
55 hectares. The top sites are Westhofener
Morstein and Offsteiner Engelsberg
and farming was converted to organics as early
as 2007. The wines impress with their inner serenity
and unaffected character. The Morstein
Riesling shows complexity, the Sankt Laurent
knows how to convince with its spiciness while
the Riesling Beerenauslese from the Morstein
shows provenance. A great performance!

Concentrated nose of peach and apricot, yellow apple, grapefruit
and a mineral ambience. On the palate there is good extract
and density, taut and athletic, consistent and balanced,
the acidity is well-integrated. 13 Vol.-%. screwcap
89 2019 »Sonnenspiel« Riesling trocken
Juicy and straightforward aromatics of apple, apricot and
grapefruit. On the palate there is a lively freshness. Lean and
taut construction with everything in the right place. The fine
sweetness corresponds well with the agile acidity, supple
with fine spice and minerality. 12,5 Vol.-%. screwcap
90 2018 St. Laurent trocken
Intense dark and spicy nose, blackcurrant and cherry, some
smoke, eucalyptus and also earthy notes. Vivid acidity on the
palate, medium body, clear fruit and spicy and pepper notes.
The tannins are ripe and juicy, good ageing potential.

Riesling Beerenauslese
Flora lavender on the nose with dried apricot and mint. Viscous
at the beginning, then immediately spicy. Comparatively
mild acidity, evoking the impression of mildness through
creaminess rather than sweetness. An original Beerenauslese.
