This longstanding estate with its 150-
year history has a firm focus on Riesling,
Pinot and Silvaner – all of which
turn out in delicious and calm fashion. Cellar
master Johannes Geil-Bierschenk makes individual
wines which are balanced and most animating.
We liked the Riesling from the
Geyersberg site in particular, showing great
ageing potential with its power and juicy nature.
Silvaner lovers can be happy about the
“S” from Bechtheim which comes across as
spicy and harmonious – a great wine!

Medium, clear yellow. Clear scent of lime peel, peach, lemon
balm and some hot stone. Lively, fine acidity on the palate,
passion fruit juice, mineral thread, mint and flint. Good structure,
nice length, powerful, potential. 13 Vol.-%. cork, €€

Medium, clear yellow. On the nose, vanilla, smoke, pear skin,
quince, fine spice. Mirabelle plum comes through. On the palate
harmonious acidity, with texture and drive and touch of
vanilla and ripe fruit. Drive and power, good structure and
nice length, potential. 14 Vol.-%. cork, €€€

Riesling trocken
Medium, clear yellow. On the nose citrus fruit, some smoke,
redcurrant and grapefruit peel. On the palate bright acidity,
lemon, passion fruit, mint, fresh and lively. Has traction, medium
structure and a nice length. 13 Vol.-%. cork, €€
90 2019 »S« Bechtheim Silvaner trocken
Clear, light yellow. On the nose freshly cut grass, lemon
balm, pear, ripe apple, some ripe citrus fruit. On the palate
harmonious acidity and nice texture, lots of spice, apple,
quince, lively, good structure and length.

Medium, clear yellow. On the nose citrus fruit, mango,
spice, overall rather expansive. Lively acidity on the palate,
has traction, ripe fruit, mango, passion fruit, red grapefruit,
shows a powerful structure and nice length.
