This longstanding Nierstein estate presents
a stellar performance – five scores
of 93 points speak for themselves. The
Nierstein village Riesling already sets the tone:
with its mineral character and powerful structure
it represents a kind of Sunday edition of
the Grosse Gewächse which are wines for celebrations
: very rich in aroma, generous in
their palate structure. They are more than
worthy representatives of their classic origin.
The red wines, too, are exquisite. Under the aegis
of Dirk Würtz the wines seem to have
gained in nuance and differentiation. Well
done!

Ripe, yellow fruit on the nose, apricot, peach and mango, in addition
fine herbs and the minerality of the Roter Hang. On the
palate ripe, yellow fruit, juicy and with texture. The acidity is
ripe and carries to the long length, good substance and density,
finishes on a mineral note. 12,5 Vol.-%. screwcap, €€€

Floral and spicy fragrance, lavender, marigold and chamomile.
Terroir tones from Rhyolite soils. On the palate silky,
finely-chiselled and soft, then develops a vivid sweetness
balanced with a bright acidity. A wine with a gentle blueprint

Spätburgunder GG
Wild cherry, milk chocolate, cinnamon, redcurrant, fragrant,
floral on the nose. Quite a meteorite on the palate: wide-bodied
and creamy, plus a hefty amount of grainy, artisanal tannin,
but also juiciness, peppery-mineral finish.

Sour cherry, Amarena cherry, elderberry and noticeable
wood spice in a multi-layered aroma, followed by juniper berry.
Taut and compact on the palate with good density and extract,
finely-woven tannins, lots of concentration.

Apple compote, pink pepper, berries and balsamic notes.
impressive on the palate, quite voluminous for a Ortswein,
