With her 2019 vintage, the new chief
oenologist at Kloster Eberbach,
shows in which direction she intends
to take this 238-hectare estate with its
portfolio of top sites: towards an emphasis of
provenance and authenticity. But a lot more is
going on: in the future, many of the steep sites
are to be converted into terraces to improve
mechanization. This should be seen as a contribution
towards efficiency and therefore the
preservation of this cultural landscape. The
boost in wine quality could not be clearer and
a fourth star is well within reach.

Dried mango, lilac, and notes of shattered rock. On the delicate,
balanced palate: breadth, effortlessly filled with substance:
finest phenolics, suppleness, ripe acidity and a suitably
restrained sweetness. Textured finish.

Spätburgunder GG
Some new wood, but mainly “wild” berry aromas, damson. On
the palate full-bodied, dense, powerful mineral-tinged, lively
acidity, very good substance, a layer of creaminess behind
the taut and still compact structure. Great potential.

Fruits of the forest aromas on the nose, some mint, a hint of juniper,
some strawberry jam. On the palate there is acid-fresh
elegance, also well endowed with tannin, fine-grained, ripe,
but also juicy and ethereal. Clearly mineral in character. Very

Multi-layered, citrusy, but also sultana, plus spicy mineral
notes, flint. Juicy on the palate, crunchy acidity, rather restrained
sweetness, intense perceptible minerality, quite classic
