This year, once again, we are happy to
confirm that Weingut Zimmermann in
Wachenheim with its single-site Rieslings
is in the top league of the Mittelhaardt estates.
Cellar master Jürgen Zimmermann
knows exactly how to depict the hallmarks
and differences of each single site clearly. His
Riesling Altenburg shows striking minerality –
in an unobtrusive fashion. The Riesling from
the Gerümpel site, on the other hand, shows its
power and substance. The Riesling from the
Fuchsmantel site is already accessible with its
playful elegance. What a boon that these wines
are available at most attractive prices!

Riesling trocken
The nose is characterised by minerality, apple, citrus fruit
and subtle wood spice. On the palate; juicy, fruity-sweet and
soft in texture, increasing complexity with phenolic layering
and striking minerality. Long lasting on the palate, lots of potential.

firm in structure, ripe stone fruit on the palate. Juicy with
ripe acidity and slightly astringent tannins. No charmer,
dominated by structure but full of potential.

Hop blossom on the nose, orange peel a little citrus fruit and
delicate smoke. Strong texture with good substance on the
palate. Ripe acidity, accompanies subtle fruit sweetness,
phenolic layers and a mineral impression lends character.

Restrained fragrance with yellow fruit, apricot, apple also
pebble. Initially juicy on the palate with sweetish fruit then
increasingly mineral notes, integrated acid vein. Not too
complex, but of a fine tactile nature. 13 Vol.-%. cork, €

The aroma is marked by the ageing in wooden barrels, roasted
chestnut, nut aromas, spices, herbs and smoke. Strong,

leafiness, delicate floral spice. A finely balanced Riesling
