Good things don’t always have to be
complicated: Weingut Pauser guarantees
well-balanced and accessible
wines at very fair prices. Eva Pauser-Brand,
who has also worked in California, is the
woman behind this style which combines clear
fruit and varietal typicity. Together with her
parents Cornelia and Friedrich Pauser she
farms 33 hectares of vines, predominantly
around Flonheim. Just like last year, her Cabernet
Sauvignon convinces with its fine fruit
and ripe tannins. Her Riesling shows tension
and balance, her Sauvignon Blanc grip and
spice. Well done!

Riesling trocken
Stone fruit like apricot and Mirabelle, some gooseberry,
white currant and floral notes. Full-bodied on the palate with
ripe acidity and sweet extract and spice, lovely balance, but
also with tension. Notes of citrus fruit on the finish.

Cabernet Sauvignon trocken
Cassis, blackberry and some pepper in the fruity nose, beetroot
and wood spice. On the palate there is power and substance,
but also suppleness and softness, the tannins and fruit

White and yellow flowers on the nose, yellow apple and
grapefruit. Juicy on the palate with citrus notes, powerful
structure and agile, enterprising acidity, substantial, yet also
elegant and nuanced. Mineral notes in the background, most

Grauer Burgunder trocken
Aromas of pear and nuts, herbs and flower meadow and ripe
stone fruit. Shows substance and power on the palate, juice,
texture and spice and pear again. Generous, with finesse and
finishes with fresh ripe citrus fruit. Very drinkable and appealing

Sauvignon Blanc trocken
Green gooseberry aromatics alongside grapefruit, pepper
and freshly mown lawn. Powerful and tightly-built on the
palate, the acid structure is stable and lively, fine spiciness
and slight savouriness, good grip, shows harmonious balance
