By now, dear wine lovers, word should<br />

have got round. But notwithstanding<br />

that, we can only repeat emphatically:<br />

Look out for Margarethenhof in Forst an der<br />

Weinstrasse, an estate that offers exquisite<br />

Riesling at very fair prices. Even the entry-level<br />

Riesling, presented in a litre bottle, shows<br />

exactly what is on offer. What Yvonne Libelli<br />

and her brother Martin Lucas have to offer is<br />

magnificent. The Rieslings from the Forster<br />

top sites Ungeheuer, Musenhang and Pechstein<br />

from the 2018 vintage reach the national<br />

top standard. We congratulate the team on<br />

achieving their third star!<br />

Grosse Lage trocken<br />

Shimmering, bright green in the glass, strongly mineral cool<br />

nose, a little iodine with meadow flowers and lime zest. A<br />

very grown-up palate with depth and spice, compact with elegance<br />

and complexity. Very good balance, incredible finish!<br />

Grosse Lage trocken<br />

Fragrant herbal nose of thyme and lavender but then also<br />

meadow flowers and white almonds, a hint of cream scent.<br />

Delicate herbs on the palate, a good acid structure balances<br />

the measured substance and gives the wine fresh elegance.<br />

Pretty, light green in the glass. Fragrant nose, cheery delicate<br />

notes of flowering meadows, yellow stone fruit. On the<br />

palate a great mix of delicacy and presence, light and also<br />

density, juicy and tart. Enormous floral finish with lots of elegance.<br />

Fine cool fragrance of herbs, also mint, then white honey,<br />

finely roasted almonds and orange blossom. On the palate a<br />

fresh and deliciously balanced sweetness is supported by elegant<br />

acidity, skilfully balanced. Delicious - a perfect afternoon<br />
