The 2019 vintage turned out very well at
Weingut Baron Knyphausen and ensured
that the cellar is full of a whole
host of appealing Rieslings: at the very top,
stands the compact and multi-layered Grosse
Gewächs from the Erbacher Hohenrain. The
Riesling from the Steinmorgen site knows
how to impress with its substance and mineral
drive. We should not forget the classic Rheingau
field blend of seven historical varieties like
Gelber Orleans, Roter Riesling or Weisser Heunisch
– a particular cause for this estate. It impresses
with its natural character.

Focused nose with stone fruit and spicy mineral, floral notes,
already fine on the nose. Multi-layered, spicy, almost peppery
on the palate, soft acidity, substantial and compact, good
density and consistency. Has potential and will develop well.

Riesling Erste Lage trocken
The full nose shows classic yellow fruits like peach and apricot
as well as spicy, mineral notes. On the palate there is
good substance and a slender body, finely spicy with a mineral

Lemon zest on the nose, ripe apricot and peach with mint.
Lean and focused on the palate, intricate construction, vivacious
but restrained acidity. Phenolic tartness, straightforward
and finely crafted. Shows terroir character and profile

Fruity nose, stone fruit and mineral notes, peach, floral
notes, bay leaf and toasty aromas. Sweet fruit with ripe and
precise acidity, juicy and clearly depicting Rheingau character.
