Tim Fröhlich presented an exquisite
range of wines from the 2019 vintage.
Of course, the vintage itself played into
his hands, but we musn’t forget that Fröhlich
now uses the aromas of spontaneous ferments,
once so typical and prominent in all his wines,
with much more restraint. We liked this so
much that we awarded him his fifth star. Quite
apart from that, the estate has not only shone
with its Grosse Gewächse for a long time, no,
the residually and nobly sweet wines show the
same class, while the mid-range wines deliver
exquisitely at very fair prices.

Complex mineral fragrance, crushed rock with iodine undertones
and rosehip, youthfully closed with varietal spiciness.
On the palate there is homogeneous presence, very fine phenolics
in a multi-layered staggered body, striking acid arc.

Balsamic spontaneous fermentation spice, citrus and floral
notes, still little opening. Dense and immediately tactile and
mineral on the palate, hard as a rock in its texture, a monolith
that will surely mature into great spiciness. The finish is delicately
sweet. 13 Vol.-%. cork, €€€€

Floral, spicy terpene, already dense and promising in the
bouquet. Then on the palate there is sweetly underpinned
substance, with striking acidity and high concentration, almost
chewable. The tactile-mineral part of the extract dominates

Nuanced, clear, deep and with delicately spicy, stony minerality
and elegant fruit. Chiselled acid structure meets delicate
fruit sweetness. Clear and flowing with the cool minerality
