It is not only down to the brilliant Trockenbeerenauslese
of Scheurebe that we can
tell that Weingut Bretz is on an upward
trajectory. The Riesling from the Petersberg
site in the 2019 vintage is finely-executed, elegant
and well-balanced and we can really recommend
the spicy and present Sauvignon
Blanc. This trajectory can be clearly pinned to
Victoria Bretz, daughter of Horst and Heike
Bretz. As a Geisenheim graduate, she now contributes
ideas and sets new influences. Especially
the use of wood seems to be much more
precise. A development which, we are sure, is
set to continue.

Fruity nose with peach, some leafiness and mineral hints.
The palate comes with an elegant attitude. Leanly-built, fine
juice and flow, underpinned by spice, freshness, citrus fruit

Grauburgunder trocken
Smells strongly of blossom, pear and ripe apple. Rich, full-bodied
wine with lots of juiciness and texture. The powerful structure
corresponds well with the generous expression, not too
sweet and with fine spice. 13,5 Vol.-%. screwcap, €€

Spätburgunder trocken
Powerful, spicy aroma with ripe red and dark fruit, wood
spice, juniper berry and damp forest floor. Concentrated and
spicy on the palate, good substance, ripe vein of acid. Successful
combination of power and Pinot personality.

Complex nose: pink grapefruit, some beeswax, fresh pea and
apricot. On the palate juicy and supple, not overly viscous, but
definitely full-bodied, rich, sweet, with rather restrained acidity,
