Stefan Fischer’s winery sits in Schweighofen
at the southernmost tip of the
Pfalz, a stone’s throw away from the Alsace.
Fischer founded the estate straight after
his vintner apprenticeship in the early 1990s –
an absolutely remarkable growth. A quick
glance at our tasting notes shows, why the
Fischer family is so successful: “Uncomplicated,
open-minded and convivial” is how the
Fischers themselves describe their wine style
and all we can do is confirm that: these wines
that put the grape variety in the spotlight are
so clear, so harmonious that a second glass is
just irresistible!

Grapefruit and smoky notes, classic aromas of Scheurebe,
followed by blood orange, orange marmalade, allspice and
coriander seed. Crunchy acidity on the palate, loads of juice,
good extract, slight viscosity with sweetness underpinning
the spiciness. Aromatic finish. 13 Vol.-%. screwcap, €

89 2019 »Classic« Riesling
Peach and lemon on the nose, as well as a slightly nutty undertone
and notes of flint. Juicy on the palate, crunchy acidity
and comparatively generous sweetness. Good density,
high intensity and excellent interplay; an appetising off-dry
classic. 12,5 Vol.-%. screwcap, €
88 2019 Sauvignon Blanc trocken
Nectarine, kiwi and green gooseberry, smoky notes. Juicy
acidity, tight construction, medium-weight in extract, alcoholic
drive, a fiery Sauvignon Blanc with a striking acid backbone
that is not entirely free of greenish motifs.

88 2019 Grauburgunder trocken
Light golden in colour. Lush, highly ripe fruit, buttery, apricot,
slightly peppery, peat. Corpulent and compact on the palate,
lively acidity and well integrated residual sweetness. A dry
tasting Pinot Gris that is recommended as a food wine.

90 2019 Weissburgunder trocken
Nutty on the nose, spring meadow flowers, herbal tones,
hay and green apple. On the palate soft and supple on the
attack with a delicate, restrained sweetness, roundly embedded
acidity and vivid savouriness on the finish . A fine,
very well balanced varietal style. 13,5 Vol.-%, screwcap, €
