Stasis is unthinkable to Michael and Martin
Braun: by now they have inaugurated
their new barrel cellar where the
2018 red wines are still maturing. Wood, in
any case, plays an important role for the brothers:
even white wines like the savoury and
firmly structured Riesling “2punkt0” are matured
in 500-litre barrels. The impressive Portugieser
from the 2017 vintage shows fine
spice, resolved tannins and real depth. We are
looking very much forward to tasting the
2018 red wines and to seeing what the brothers
do next.

Ripe fruit and wood notes come together on the nose with
peach and apricot to the fore, redcurrants. Spicy and juicy on
the palate there is fine residual sweetness and ripe acidity.
Ageing in wood reinforces the powerful and firm structure -
good potential for cellaring. 13 Vol.-%. cork

Chardonnay trocken
Yellow blossom on the nose, apricot and nashi pear, apple
and orange zest. Juicy (apple and pear) and spicy on the palate
with good substance; nicely rounded, ripe, well structured
and integrated acidity. A smooth Chardonnay that
would work on its own or with food. 12,5 Vol.-%. screwcap

Classic Riesling nose with fresh aromas; apricot and peach,
also apple and some citrus fruit. On the palate fruit and juice,
slenderly built yet energetic, the acidity is ripe and playful
leading to a spicy finish. Elegant. 12,5 Vol.-%. screwcap

Spicy nose with sweet cherry and juicy plum, herbs, almond
kernel; not unlike Port. On the palate there is sweet fruit,
soft, juicy plum and cherry, fine spice and mild, balanced
acidity, finely textured tannins, deep. 14 Vol.-%. cork

Apple blossom on the nose, apple and apricot, some passion
fruit. Well balanced Riesling with compact structure,
balanced acidity and clear, juicy apple and apricot fruit
with fine spice. Has charm and style - lingers well on the
