Neronet may sound like a name for a
red blend made from dark-coloured
grape varieties but it is in fact a new
crossing hailing from the Czech Republic,
based on noble parentage: (St. Laurent x Blauer
Portugieser) x (Alicante Bouschet x Cabernet
Sauvignon). Weingut Jäger, which also is a
nursery, has developed this crossing further
and now makes decidedly interesting wines
from it. We also liked their Blauer Spätburgunder
with its slightly rounder stature, as is typical
for the vintage – as well as the fruit-forward
Sauvignon Blanc. The rest of the white
wines easily play in that same league!

Chardonnay Spätlese trocken
White flowers and some wood, vanilla and caramel on the
nose. On the palate there is some force, a layer of phenolics
and pithy acidity provide the counterpoint to the powerful
body, the mid-palate is dense and pronounced in fruity leading
to a pronounced yellow-fruited finish.

89 2018 Blauer Burgunder trocken
Bitter chocolate and herbs, thyme, also peppery notes on the
nose. Creamy base on the palate, with a medium dose of finegrained
tannins. The ripe acidity holds well with the dark berry
and Pinot fruit. Generous, rich body and finish.

Citrus on the nose, with alcohol and acidity accentuating the
palate before a layer of slightly dry phenolics takes over in
the middle. Has attractive length, freshness and tension. A

Violet pastille and liquorice, elderberry, blueberry and ethereal
herbal notes dominate the aromatics. Dense on the palate
with a fine-grained tannin, yet well-balanced with juicy
ripe acidity. Concentrated youthful fruit, with a very clear
and intense finish. 13 Vol.-%. synthetic closure , €
89 2019 Sauvignon Blanc trocken
Appealing fruity aromatics of red gooseberry, Williams
pear and discreet hints of yeast. The palate shows a good
body, the sweetness-acidity ratio is harmonious, texture
and slight saltiness give the wine something distinctive.
