The Wasen family has made wine in Ingelheim
ever since 1726. Their estate,
in its current form, was founded in
1912. After being divided up in 2019, this part
of it is now run by Holger Wasem and his sons
Julius and Philipp. As is traditional in the town
of Ingelheim, red wines play the starring role
here – above all Spätburgunder as a characterful
and textured terroir wine. It’s all down to
the limestone! The family connections extend
to the price-winning Kloster Engelthal with its
restaurant, conference and event spaces.

Wild cherry, redcurrant, herbal spice, then black pepper and
elderberry. Vivid and powerful palate with lots of fine tannin,
a hint of stemminess, but still fine, good acidity. Hints of
spice developing on the finish. 13,5 Vol.-%. cork, €€

Wild cherry, cherry pips, slightly smoky new wood on the
nose. Silky and smooth on the palate, balancing sweet fruit
and slowly gripping tannin on the palate, yet also juicy,
chalky mineral undertones. Elegant acidity, quite fresh, cherry-like

Plump plush Cabernet fruit, fir honey, panforte and syrup.
Supple and fruit-driven at the start, then dominated by
powerful grainy tannin. Cultivated acidity. On the finish
again dark berry, intense and long-lasting.

Primary aromatics of chocolate, bay leaf, malt and cherries.
Silky, juicy ripe fruit on the palate, the tannin gains graininess
as the palate evolves. The fine acidic nerve carries the fruit
and evolving mineral notes on the long finish.

A rather clear, fresh Riesling fragrance of fresh citrus, bergamot
and floral notes. Juicy on the palate, with crunchy
acidity and well-balanced sweetness. A hearty wine that
