The wines made by Jörg and Felix Ellwanger
present themselves at their usual
high standard. The brothers are still
supported by their father Jürgen, one of those
winemakers who determinedly fought against
mediocrity and stasis of the Rems valley. Those
looking for smoothed over wines will search in
vain: the Lemberger shows density and spice,
the Cabernet Sauvignon is astonishingly focused
with its juicy fruit. The “H.A.D.E.S”
Grauburgunder demonstrates both skilful use
of wood and varietal typicity – while the
Weissburgunder convinces with density,
creaminess and charm. Absolutely solid!

Pear, apple, apple peel in the powerful nose followed by walnuts,
herbs and toasted aromas. Full-bodied on the palate
with good density, extract and phenolics. The warm year
shows in the well-integrated alcohol. Vinified for substance

Notes of peach, citrus peel, mineral hints, white pepper and
Asian spices. On the palate there is a beautiful classic style,
clear fruit, subtle sweetness, ripe acidity that reflects the
warm year with good substance and medium tension with
added sprinkles of phenolics. 12,5 Vol.-%. cork, €€€

Beautiful Cabernet scent, cassis, spice and hints of tobacco.
Powerful, focused and fruity on the palate. Maintains freshness
despite all the concentration with vivid and juicy tannins.

Spicy and intense nose with aromas of blackberry, juniper
berry, wood spice and eucalyptus. On the palate there is
well-integrated power, shows strength, density, juice and
also charm. The midpalate has mineral notes and lively tannins.

Weissburgunder GG
Acacia blossom, apple peel, ripe citrus fruit, smoke and
some vanilla scents on the nose. Multi-layered and spicy on
the palate, good density, volume, minerality and phenolics,
also juice and texture. Good potential, will continue to mature.
