Schwerdt once again presented a very
convincing range of their ambitious
wines and site potential. Weingut Hane wald-
Schwerdt cultivates almost 25 hectares of
vineyards in famous sites like Ruppertsberger
Reiterpfad or Bad Dürkheimer Hochbenn.
The Riesling from this site impresses with a
savoury, cool minerality, the one from the
Reiterpfad with concentration and balance.
Their Spätburgunders are dense with finely
extracted tannins and of multi-faceted elegance.
They are going places!

Riesling trocken
Herbal notes on the nose, tomato leaf, leafiness, ripe apricots
and shattered rock. Juicy and supple at first on the palate,
then showing a spicy and cool minerality that accentuates
the wine. Harmonious balance, medium extract. Still
youthful. 13 Vol.-%. screwcap, €€
mellow tannins, the generous volume offers a ripe acid structure
and lots of spice. Full bodied – shows the ripeness of the

Riesling trocken
Spicy and herbal nose with ripe yellow fruit and apple, grapefruit,
lemon balm and allspice. Compact palate showing juicy
texture and ripe acidity, apple and light flowers again, fine
phenolic tartness, good extract, stony spiciness.

Spätburgunder trocken
Cassis, cherry and wood spice and violets on the nose. Elegant
and with fine tannins, sensitively extracted, skilful use
of wood, finely chiselled acidity, beautiful fruit, powerfully
built with density. Glides smoothly along - elegant.

Spicy nose with ripe black cherry and blackberry, violets and
smoke. On the palate there is relatively fleshy fruit, rich and

Concentrated aromas of apricot and apple, spicy notes,
herbs and also flowers. On the palate there is good concentration
and balance, the harmonious acidity sets the pace,
there’s good extract, fine phenolic layers and mineral hue.
