The red wines from the 2017 vintage
prove that it is absolutely worth laying
down Jürgen Krebs’ wines. The exquisite
Spätburgunder from the Himmelreich site
is almost purist in its expression and brims
with minerality; the Blaufränkisch is juicy,
grippy and profound. “I have no need of hocus
pocus,” Krebs reports, whose 20 hectares of
vineyards have been certified organic since
2018. Krebs has found his very own style
where primary fruit does not play first fiddle.
His use of wood is intuitive and skilful – as his
wonderfully balanced Viognier shows. A very
strong performance!

Strong lemon yellow in colour, spicy nose with ripe stone
fruit and apple, ripe apricot, candied orange peel and ginger.
The powerful structure shows juice and ripe fruit, spice
again. Dense and compact, with good length.

sour cherry and a slightly citric tone, also substantial. The
acidity is lively and unobtrusive. Dry, little fruit, slightly stemmy

Floral notes on the nose; violets, a little rosehip and cherry, a
touch of lovage, also a slightly ethereal tone. Well built on
the palate there is cherry and also sour cherry and delicate
spice. Purist in expression. Dry, emphasises the mineral aspects.

Musikantenbuckel Blaufränkisch trocken
Blueberry and wild blueberry on the nose, subtle wood spice,
touch of orange peel and sage, freshly crushed juniper berry.
Juicy on the palate there is some sour cherry and good momentum.
Compact structure, the tannin is grippy and ripe.
Has depth and elegance. 13 Vol.-%. cork, €€€

Spätburgunder trocken
Cherry and light smoke, bay leaf and a little juniper berry on
the nose. Compactly built on the palate with good freshness,

Medium golden yellow in colour with a nose of candied orange
peel and floral impressions, aniseed, pastry and also
apricot. Lean and tightly built on the palate with balanced
acidity and ripe fruit again. Dry and ending with a slight
saltiness. 12,5 Vol.-%, cork, €€
