The evolution of Weingut K.H. Schneider
is remarkable. With its current
range of wines it manages to cement its
position amongst the most ambitious estates
on the Nahe. Christoph and Andi Schneider,
the latter responsible for winemaking, run this
1956-founded estate today, alongside thier
parents Marion and Bernd. They farm 15 hectares
of vineyards, amongst them sites in
Schlossböckelheim which were newly acquired
over the past years. These mineral and
well-proportioned Rieslings are amazing calling
cards for the Nahe!

Beautiful yellow fruit in the glass, Mirabelle, herbs and orchard,
with fine smoke, banana and wet stone. Juicy and
creamy on the palate. The acidity is well-integrated with a
smoky, mineral foundation, long length. Good potential.

Concentrated nose, but needs time. Yellow fruit like Mirabelle,
also floral hints, spicy and herbal. Slightly smoky and
warm stone. On the palate it starts out with creaminess and
juice, good density, extract and tension. Good balance, with
mineral foundations. 12,5 Vol.-%. cork, €€

Riesling trocken
Strong notes of spontaneous fermentation on the nose,
malty, some hops, spice and caraway, stone fruit. On the palate
there is vibrant acidity accompanied by fine sweetness;
good extract, athletically-built and with lovely balance. Has
potential. 12,5 Vol.-%. cork, €€

Riesling Auslese
Rich, medium yellow. On the nose dried fruits, including apricot
and fig and candied citrus fruit. Lots of texture on the palate of
rich, ripe citrus fruit, invigorating acidity, spicy and dense. Offers
both power and potential. Lay down. 8,5 Vol.-%. cork, €€

Clear, medium yellow. On the nose ripe, exotic fruits, mango
and passion fruit, orange zest and fresh lemon balm. On
the palate piquant acidity, noticeable sweetness,
mouth-watering ripe peach and lime. Still young but with
good structure, juicy and animating. 8,5 Vol.-%, cork, €€
