Jörg Lanius is 53 years old but already has
40 years of winery work under his belt.
“In the Mittelrhein region, I am the
youngest of the older winemakers,” he says.
The fact that he started lending a hand at his parental
estate from age 13 onwards was down to
the then rather poor wine quality of the region.
Ever since, he has “tried to improve.” This striving
for quality is expressed in his wines. His
Grosses Gewächs from the Lauerbaum site
convinces with freshness, volume and minerality.
The Auslese from the Bernstein site is focused
and silkily-integrated. A really strong performance
from this youthful old master.

Riesling GG
Fine spicy nose, bright yellow fruit nuances and some herbaceous
notes. Delicate fruit sweetness on the palate, lively
with clear volume and juiciness. Fresh, concentrated stone
fruit, and stony minerality. Tart hints, fine spiciness, complemented
by a citrus-fresh acidic structure.

Deep, spicy, clear with mineral nuances on the nose.
Mouth-filling on the palate, juicy and concentrated, then flowing.
In the middle, fruity-sweet apple, some tart herbs. The
acidity is integrated, but subtle in its pull. Fine spiciness and

Intergrated, creamy, light fruit scents and stony nuances on
the nose followed by cherry blossom and peach. Concentrated
and focused on the palate. Fresh, fine sweetness, silky interwoven,
yet lively, mineral, fresh with taut, finely salty, juicy

Notes of pear and stone on the nose. Focused on the palate
with imminent tension and fine spiciness. Finely-integrated
mouthfeel, followed by fine grip and citrusy, juicy acidity.
Fresh pear, nice flow. Fine minerality and nuances.
