Weingut Eissele farms eight hectares
of vines in the Rems valley, in the
villages of Stetten and Strümpfelbach.
The vines grow on heavy and loam-rich-
Keuper- and sandstone soils and traditional
varieties like Riesling and Trollinger are joined
by Zweigelt, Lemberger, Merlot, Pinot-varieties,
Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. “It is
our aim to recognise the idiosyncrasies and
personalities of these varieties and to tend
them with understanding and devotion,”
Jochen Eissele reports. It is the “Passion” series
in particuler that shows his approach. The
wines are very balanced. Well done!

Harmonious aroma, ripe citrus fruit, orange blossom, fine
herbal spice and grip. Juicy and mouth-watering on the palate,
fresh with a straight, citric acid structure and nuances of
fresh orange, apple and some citrus zest. Animating, juicy

Luscious balance of freshness and liveliness with notes of
honeydew melon, pear, citrus fruit and hints of nuts. On the
palate fine fruit sweetness, citrus freshness, juiciness and
nuances of melon, green apple and ripe lemon embraced by

Dense bouquet with notes of black cherry, plum, violet nuances
and a hint of vanilla offering depth and fine spiciness.
Integrated palate with citrusy notes, taut acidity and finegrained
tannins, accentuated by sour cherry and herbaceous
spice. 13,5 Vol.-%. cork, €€
89 2018 »Passion« Stetten Spätburgunder tr.
Luscious scents of spice, dark cherry fruit, a hint of wild raspberry
and some hay. Surprisingly light on the palate in comparison
with the nose, showing relatively little body. However,
astringent with some green acidity and notes of sour cherry.

Depth and rich fruit scents offering freshness with white
currant, green pepper, stone and hints of smoke. Compactly
built on the palate, avoiding all that is opulent, animatingly-juicy
and wel- interwoven with fine spice and a fresh
