Apart from presenting his wines from
the 2019 vintage, Carsten Lamberth
also presented more mature wines
from 2018, 2016 and 2015. We already know
that he has a great touch for wood-matured
red wines. His Spätburgunder “Très Fins”
from the 2016 vintage comes across as Burgundian
with its fine acidity and smooth tannins.
The white wines, too, are on great form,
especially the complex Grauburgunder Himmelthal
and the linear, super-straight Riesling
“Kalkstein”. Lamberth always has surprises
up his sleeve.

Grauburgunder trocken
Slightly reddish shimmer in the glass. Herbs, bay leaf, smoke
and toasted aromas with layers of quince, green walnut and
pear. Powerfully-built but with a clear outline, sweet extract,
juicy with a phenolic tartness adding to it's complexity and
mineral foundations. 13 Vol.-%. cork, €€
90 2015 »R« Ludwigshöhe Teufelskopf
Chardonnay trocken
Deep yellow, still shows smoky notes from barrique ageing,
dark aromas of roots, herbs with ripe, exotic honeydrew melon.
Powerful and firmly-built on the palate with sweet extract
and ripe acidity. Spice and some wood tannin, with juice
and texture, good potential. 14 Vol.-%. cork, €€
90 2008 »Pinot Blanc de Noir« brut
Fine, unobtrusive Pinot fruit on the nose, raspberry, strawberry
and discreet spices from light evolution. Freshness on
the palate with lively acidity and ripe fruit; slender, straightforward
construction, a precise sparkling wine, good aperitif.

Spicy nose with juniper berry, fir resin, ripe wild raspberry
and cherry, layers of smoke and a slightly ethereal tone. On
the palate there is a fine and ripe acid structure, dry, soft tannins,
elegant and Burgundian in impression, light with an animating
savouriness. 13,5 Vol.-%. cork, €€€

The yellow fruit of apricot and peach is joined on the nose
by a chalky mineral tone and fine spice. On the palate there
is traction and drive, but also texture and clear fruit, ripe
acid vein, tightly-built, as if drawn with a ruler. Highly mineral,
exhibiting its own individual character.
