Time and again we are surprised at what
client-friendly wines the Hauck family
manages to offer: accomplished
Spätlesen of Riesling and Weissburgunder are
to be had for a mere EUR 7.80. In any case,
you get a lot of bang for your buck here. Apart
from the classic Spätlesen, both the
“kunststück” made from Weissburgunder and
Auxerrois, and the red blend “essential” from
Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon stand out.
This shows where the new generation, personified
by Jana Hauck, might take the estate in
the future. Exciting!

Concentrated aromas of ripe stone fruit, apricot and vine
peach, also mango. Generosity, depth and freshness combine
on the palate, good extract, lively acidity sets the tone,

Weissburgunder Spätlese trocken
Pear and apricot on the nose, fine smoke and spice, also
some banana. Textured and juicy on the palate, smooth foundation,
well-integrated acidity, slight fruit sweetness. Good
balance, wraps up its complexity in a most elegant fashion.

Blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, powerful aroma of
cassis, wood spice, toasted notes, forest floor and leaves.
Well-balanced on the palate, good extract, fine fruit sweetness,
ripe and vivid acid vein, distinctive tannins, still slightly

Strong cherry fruit with wood spice and toasted aromas,
chocolate-coated cherry in Kirsch and rosemary. Powerful
and broad on the palate, there is power and force, concentrated
expression of a warm year and ripe acidity. Generous
