It was in 2015 that the then 24-year-old Peter
Michel took over the reins at his parental
estate. His father Thomas Michel still
supports him in farming their 21 hectares of
vines. Michel wants to reach “a balance between
the values that have been passed along to
him and a modern wine style.” It is an ambition
he has fulfilled with the wines he presented for
tasting. Especially the single-site wines, like the
generous and mineral Riesling “S” from the
Steinhardter Liebelen and the full-bodied, spicy
Grauburgunder “S” from the Bad Sobernheimer
Domberg from the 2018 vintage – both show
great substance. A very successful performance!
