We really do like Tim Strasser’s
wines. Not only does he continuously
climb the quality ladder, he
also keeps expanding his vineyards. Currently
he cultivates 19 hectares close to the Meissener
Albrechts Castle. In doing so, he has become
a specialist in fungal-resistant grape varieties
like Helios, or Hibernal. Beyond that, he
makes a Beerenauslese that even evokes
thoughts of Sauternes. The dry whites offer
fine fruit and are unembellished, like the Sauvignon
Blanc for instance. A great collection –
congratulations on the second star!

Sauvignon Blanc trocken
Spicy nose, not too bold, as the grape variety often shows,
rather closed - some yellow fruit, passion fruit and gooseberry.
Powerful and compact. Well-proportioned on the palate,
dense and balanced, some seaweed, salty. An individualistic
interpretation. 13,5 Vol.-%. screwcap , €€
palate there’s as much substance as sweetness, the acidity
remains discreetly in the background. The palate structure
has a distant resemblance to Sauternes, although more

Grauburgunder halbtrocken
Powerful nose with real impact, smoke and toast aromas,
quince and pear peel, a touch of incense. Powerful character
showing a lot of substance, volume, power and charm on the
palate as well as noticeable residual sweetness. Potential to
mature and be paired with the right food.

Fresh, fruity and spicy nose; yellow fruit, some lemongrass,
grapefruit and redcurrant. On the palate there is a selfconfident
acid structure, beautiful and intense spiciness.
Not too sweet, taut and slenderly-built. Straightforward in
its character, fresh-faced. 12,5 Vol.-%. screwcap , €€

Hibernal Beerenauslese
Passion fruit, grassy-greenish notes, candied fruit. On the

Still somewhat closed nose, yeast, apple and apple peel
show up, also plum and herbal notes. A slender-shaped
palate, exciting, fine juice, mild acidity and herbs all combine
in the spicy finish; natural character.
