It was not until March 2020 that winemaking
couple Miriam and Alexander Ehrmann
opened their winery in Weikersheim,
in the Württenberg part of the Tauber
valley – until then they had always delivered
their grapes to the local co-op. That however,
they report, is no longer good enough. They are
setting a fresh, determined course and their aim
is to make “handmade wines” with attention to
detail, a clear signature and in tune with nature.
Thus they presented a Grauburgunder with the
fitting name “Der Individuelle.”A most promising
debut in our guide – we look forward to
following the progress in Tauber valley!

Karlsberg Grauburgunder trocken
Fragrance of cool smoke, pear along with apple peel and yellow
floral notes. Juicy and powerfully-structured on the palate,
spicy and also notes of white pepper with the ripe acidity
lending suppleness flanked by a vivid phenolic grip. A gastronomic
Pinot style. 13,5 Vol.-%. screwcap, €
raspberry. On the palate there is clear fruit and juice, good
balance with finely-extracted tannins that harmonise well
with the subtle sweetness. A mood enhancer for al fresco

Grauburgunder trocken
Clear aromas on the nose, pear, yellow apple, apricot and
some lemongrass with hints of bay leaf. Smooth with texture
and clear fruit on the palate, powerful but with a defined outline.
Vinified dry, a gastronomically versatile Pinot Gris.

Müller-Thurgau trocken
On the nose still slightly yeasty, apple peel, stone fruit and
also garden herbs. On the palate there is good freshness and
spiciness, also pepper, juiciness, fruity notes but also with a
phenolic touch that provides some complexity. Artisanal

Blackcurrants on the fragrant nose merged with cherry and

On the palate medium-bodied and vertically-built, quite
complex with a layer of powerful phenolics, some malty
notes with lively and composed acidity. Wine with style and
