Our expectations were surpassed: with
the Spätburgunders of the 2018 vintage
Sebastian and Paul Fürst have accomplished
a true feat. Their Grosses Gewächs from
the Bürgstadter Hundsrück site is a wine that
emblematically represents the high art of Pinot
making in this subregion of Churfranken. We
are certain that this Spätburgunder with its immense
ageing potential will be talked about for
a long time yet. It also demonstrates what we
barely thought possible: that the Fürsts can
raise their game even further. The other Pinots,
likewise, are excellent and the white wines are
as convincing in every respect. Magnificent!

hints of almonds, fine herbs and a whiff of smoke. Soft on the
palate, with juicy acidity and delicate spice, but also increasing
texture, density and tension with subsequent mineral underpinnings.

Rosehip, cherry and raspberry interlaced in a stony, mineral
ambience with hints of herbs and smoke. Dense and tightly
integrated on the palate, power, spice and intensity merge
into an elegant base. Showing dynamism in an calm way with
mineral nuances. Very skillful. 13 Vol.-%. cork, €€€€

Intense nose of ripe cherry, raspberry, honeysuckle and fine
toasted aromas. Ripe and intense tannins on the palate, perfect
structure, medium body, lively acidity and again intense
