The Köster-Wolf estate was founded in
1684 and is run by Bärbel and Claus
Wolf now, the eleventh generation of
the family. The couple reports that “striving
for quality is an unwritten law for us and our
yardstick.” They turn the fruit of almost 35
hectares of vines into varietally-typical, expressive
and well-balanced wines and offer
them at very fair prices. The lively Sauvignon
Blanc and the elegant Weissburgunder are
very good examples for this. A very successful
debut for this estate in Albig.

Apple and Mirabelle on the nose, spicy and floral with light
notes of lemon grass. Juicy and clear on the palate with
beautiful fruit expression, slender structure, well-integrated
acidity and sweetness, fine texture and spice; good substance,

Fruity and spicy nose of gooseberry, pink grapefruit and yellow
fruit with hints of guava and a sweet-sour note. The palate
shows a good combination of clear fruit, sweetness and
freshness in a lean texture. Spicy and delicious, finely-tuned.

Juicy pear and apple on the clean nose, some floral notes
and spices. Juicy on the palate, with clear varietal typicity,
ripe acidity, fine spiciness and a sweetness of fruit. Powerful
construction; classic and uncomplicated Pinot Gris that

Blend of Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. Smelling
of green apple, yellow fruit and citrus. Animating freshness,
juicy and well-balanced, youthful fruit and spice on the

Varietal nose of gooseberry, grapefruit, pepper, hints of
grass clippings and fine spiciness. Fresh acidity, clear fruit
and fine sweetness on the palate lead to a slender structure.
Animated with an upbeat style. Good varietal typicity
with a local accent. 12,5 Vol.-%, screwcap, €
