For Felix Waldkirch, 2019 was a vintage
in which he could harvest classical Rieslings
– for him that means ripe grapes
with moderate alcohol levels. This, so he reported,
was why 2019 was a vintage of “drinking
pleasure”. And he is right! His dry estate
Riesling “Felix” is balanced and savoury, the
estate Kabinett “Wanderlust” shows dense
structure and beautiful length – it will benefit
from a further year of bottle age. We especially
liked the dry Muskateller with its low alcohol
and crunchy fruit bouquet – an ideal aperitif.

Clear, medium yellow. On the nose spicy citrus fruit, orange
blossom, fine bergamot oil, lemon balm, mint - invigorating.
On the palate juicy, balanced, ripe acidity, fine citrus fruit, nicely
woven structure, good length - fun. 12 Vol.-%. screwcap, €

Riesling Kabinett
Clear, medium yellow. On the nose ripe citrus fruits, lime
zest, orange blossom, papaya, mint. Fine acidity on the palate,
good balance with the fruit sweetness - pineapple and
orange juice. A little phenolic but balanced overall with medium
body and nice length. 10,5 Vol.-%. screwcap, €

Clear, mid yellow. On the nose fresh citrus fruit, lime, pithy
underlay, herbal spice, lemon balm. Fine acidity on the palate,
rounded and harmonious, citrus fruit, feathered phenolics,
fine spiciness, medium body and length, balanced.

89 2019 Scheurebe Spätlese
Clear, medium yellow. On the nose spicy ripe fruit, redcurrants,
lime, exotic fruits, mango, papaya. Textured sweetness
on the palate - pineapple juice and cooked orange, rather
mild acidity. Dense with power and structure, good length.

Clear, medium yellow. On the nose freshly squeezed grape
juice, a little nutmeg and elderberry. Fresh acidity on the
palate, very lively, juicy grape fruit, some citrus, elegantly
structured and harmoniously rounded. Medium body - ideal
aperitif. 11,5 Vol.-%, screwcap, €
