It is hard to believe but 2019 was Katharina
Wechsler’s tenth vintage already.
While this estate caused quite a number of
stirs in the past, now we can only look to a future
full of excitement: Wechlser has transitioned
to the next phase and is converting her
vineyards to organic farming. Right now, we
took much pleasure in her single-site Rieslings
which are made according to the formula of
‘top terroir + old vines’ – they come across as
purist, salty and fresh in the glass – a real joy.

Focused, intricate aromatics of light yellow fruit, fine spices,
delicate herbs and some blossom. The palate initially offers
a nuanced, soft palate, fresh and citrusy. Develops a focused
and grippy texture with salty minerality and a finely-spiced,
long, juicy finish. 13 Vol.-%. cork/screwcap, €€€

Full-bodied, structured, mineral, deep, finely-spicy on the
nose. Meadow herb with yellow blossom, red apple, chamomile.
Full rounded palate, deliciously-concentrated juicy
fruit. Citrus tang, mineral grip and vivid acidity with discreet
sharpness and highly-focused finish.

Deep, smoky notes on the nose. A rich palate with fine acidity
woven around stony and salty minerality, giving an impression
of delicacy. Linear with a defined acidity and a salty, citric

Landwein trocken
Smoky, notes of raspberry on the nose and fine minerality
with a touch of yeast at present. Firm, flowing, palate with
bright acidity, light citrus fruit, then berry aromas on the
length. Grip and focus on the finish. A rosé of good substance.

Deep, ripe yellow and green fruit aromas offering a real presence
and fine minerality. Clear and concentrated on the palate.
Full of nuances, deliciously juicy citrus and stone fruit
sweetness and salty minerality. Highly focused, firm acid
structure, long length. 13 Vol.-%, screwcap, €€
