Just one glimpse of the 2019 vintage shows
clearly that yet another gigantic vintage
slumbers in the cellars of Haus Klosterberg.
Fine acidity and precisely delineated site
character run like a red thread through the entire
range. As always with Molitor’s wines, just
a breath of Fuder and an aura of craftmanship
hover above the glass which somehow always
remain just out of reach and yet (or just because)
lend something decidedly untainted and
pure to these wines. Some of the 2019 top wines
were not yet released at the time of our tasting –
but excitement is guaranteed.

Floral, rosehip, orange blossom and slate notes with additional
balsamic scents becoming more evident in the glass.
On the palate powerful, supple, light wood influence, creamy
phenolics, concentrated acidity, rich and ripe in all components.

Weisse Kapsel
Complex in aroma and complete, balsamic, herbaceous,
slate, incense, floral and citrus scents. Broad on the palate,
delicate phenolics and a penetrating tactile minerality put
the palate under high tension with pithy acidity. Lively sweet
counterbalance. 12 Vol.-%. cork, €€€

Riesling Auslese *** Grüne Kapsel
Complex and dense fruity scents, cassata, cherry and ripe exotic
fruit. On the palate supple, almost viscous, broad, concentrated,
quite round with a vivid sweetness. The full-bodied
style of Bernkastel ends as smoothly as it begins.

Riesling Spätlese Goldene Kapsel
Spicy slate scents, flint, stone focused aromas. Lively, almost
lush sweetness on the onset, taut acidity, great interplay
on the midpalate, rounded on the finish with a subtle
mineral trace. Very delicate, fine. 7,5 Vol.-%. cork, €€
