Even if Peter Regnery is seen as a Spätburgunder
specialist in the Mosel with
30% of his vineyards planted to this variety,
it was the Riesling that drew us in this
time: his dry Auslese from the Klüsserather
Bruderschaft has just 11.5% ABV and yet is
intense and finely mineral. His “Grosses
Gewächs” from the 2018 vintage comes close
to the Auslese and its counterpart from the
2008 vintage comes across as beautifully
evolved and aristocratic. Wonderful! Again,
the Spätburgunders also turned out well. And
note: his Vinothek (wine shop) is amongst the
most architecturally striking.

Bruderschaft Riesling Auslese trocken
The nose shows intense minerality and the nobility of almost
100-year-old vines with fine pineapple scents. On the palate,
calm intensity with fine fruit and mineral timbre, a little iodine,
yet slender in texture and finely chiselled acidity. Magnificent!

Bruderschaft Riesling trocken
Powerful aroma of spontaneous fermentation, herbs, apple
peel, caraway, red apple and also yellow fruit. Well-judged
substance in a strong structure, ripe acidity and fine sweetness
intermingle with hints of white pepper. Mineral and
spicy slate undertones, young. 13 Vol.-%. cork, €€€

Bruderschaft Riesling
Ripe aroma of sultanas, dried apricot, petrol, tea, hay and
herbs. Fine and velvety on the palate, still lively with finely
chiselled acidity, well matured, lean and velvety, underpinned
by slate spice and apricot notes.Seems aristocratic in
its fine flow. 12 Vol.-%. cork, €€€
91 2015 »Reserve« Klüsserath Bruderschaft
Spätburgunder trocken
Powerful nose with toasted aromas, ripe cherry, blood orange,
pipe tobacco, cassis and wet forest floor. On the palate
there is good concentration and present acidity, medium-bodied
structure and ripe tannins. Interpreted rather
lean for 2015, nevertheless with substance.

Bruderschaft Riesling Spätlese feinherb
Spicy nose with notes of ripe yellow fruit, spicy slate notes,
herbal hints from a warm vineyard, peach and also passion
fruit. The fine tart sweetness is well integrated in the lean
body with fresh acidity and spicy slate nuances. Juicy with
