It was in 2013 that Frank Bärmann returned
to this 1814-founded wine and
farmstead of his forebears in the village of
Merdingen in the Tuniberg subregion. “With
the dream to build a wine estate,” as he reports.
The career-changing novice made his first wines
in 2014, motivated by “a passion for wine
along with love and enthusiasm for my home
region.” These sentiments do come across in the
wines, especially in the Spätburgunders which
managed to turn the heat of 2018 into pure potential.
The white wines speak of clarity and
precision, his Weissburgunder from the Merdinger
Bühl site underscores his ambition.

Spicy notes on the nose, smoke and toasted aromas, some liquorice
and herbs, ripe mirabelle plums and apples. Powerfullybuilt
and substantial on the palate with good weight, lots of
spice and texture. Not ungenerous with its charms and shows
the warm year 2018. For hearty cuisine. 13,5 Vol.-%. cork

A light orange-tinted rosé colour. Blood orange, strawberry in
the fragrance. Juicy on the palate, then pithy, clearly phenolic,
light sweetness, fresh mousse. It has good qualities but the
components still have yet to combine. 12,5 Vol.-%. cork

Pinot Noir trocken
Mint on the nose, peppermint pastilles, ripe cherries, wild
berries, wood spice and black liquorice. On the palate ripe
acidity and raspberry and a hint of lavender, powerfullydeveloped
muscle, good substance and spice. Well-defined
specimen of the Pinot Noir species. 14,5 Vol.-%. cork

Ripe blackberry and black cherry on the nose, tobacco, orange
peel, blood orange and spices. Not ungenerous on the
palate, lots of substance, power and spice, the alcohol is
well- integrated, sweet extract. Pinot Noir for fireside evenings
or hearty dishes. 14,5 Vol.-%. cork

On the nose, lush black cherry, blackberry, blood orange,
beetroot, herbs and thyme. Opulent, massive Pinot Noir
with balsamic spice, lots of substance and punch, but
