Application Level Programmers’ Model<br />

<strong>ARM</strong> st<strong>and</strong>ard floating-point arithmetic supports the following input formats defined by the IEEE 754<br />

floating-point st<strong>and</strong>ard:<br />

Zeros.<br />

Normalized numbers.<br />

Denormalized numbers are flushed to 0 before floating-point operations. For details, see<br />

Flush-to-zero on page A2-39.<br />

NaNs.<br />

Infinities.<br />

<strong>ARM</strong> st<strong>and</strong>ard floating-point arithmetic supports the Round to Nearest rounding mode defined by the IEEE<br />

754 st<strong>and</strong>ard.<br />

<strong>ARM</strong> st<strong>and</strong>ard floating-point arithmetic supports the following output result formats defined by the IEEE<br />

754 st<strong>and</strong>ard:<br />

Zeros.<br />

Normalized numbers.<br />

Results that are less than the minimum normalized number are flushed to zero, see Flush-to-zero on<br />

page A2-39.<br />

NaNs produced in floating-point operations are always the default NaN, see NaN h<strong>and</strong>ling <strong>and</strong> the<br />
