Result
ONS Ringer Application Test (#48)
FAIL The terminal equipment is not connected to the circuit pack. Some
terminal equipment, such as modems, may fail even when connected
properly.
1. Remotely test the equipment.
2. If the test fails again, look for RING-GEN errors in the error log. If
present, see RING-GEN (Analog Ring Generator).
3. Check all of the wiring between the station equipment and the
switch. Then, run the test again.
4. If the test still fails, the set may be defective. Check the set and
replace it, if necessary.
5. Some terminal equipment could fail even when it is connected
properly. If so, enter change station extension and set the
Test field to n to disable the test. This also disables Tests #6, #7,
#35, and #161 on this port.
PASS The station is connected properly. This test may also pass if no terminal
equipment is connected and the terminal is located very far from the
switch. Investigate user-reported troubles on this port by using other port
tests, examining station wiring, or examining the station.
