FAIL The reflective looparound <strong>test</strong> failed. This could cause noisy or unreliable<br />

connections, or users calling this port may hear an echo. The problem<br />

can also be off-board.<br />

1. Since a line seizure may affect the <strong>test</strong>, repeat the <strong>test</strong> at 1-minute<br />

intervals up to 5 times.<br />

2. Enter <strong>test</strong> board location to run circuit pack <strong>test</strong>s to check the<br />

Tone Generator <strong>and</strong> the Tone Detector circuits on the IPSIs or the<br />

Tone Generator/Tone Detector circuit packs.<br />

3. Resolve any problems on the Tone Generator or the Tone Detector<br />

circuit.<br />

4. If the Tone Generator <strong>and</strong> Tone Detector circuits are functioning<br />

properly, determine whether a voice terminal is connected <strong>and</strong> wired<br />

properly. Resolve any problems found.<br />

5. If the <strong>test</strong> still fails, replace the analog line circuit pack.<br />

PASS The port provides an analog transmission path to the station equipment.<br />

Investigate user-reported troubles on this port by running other port <strong>test</strong>s,<br />

by examining station wiring, or by inspecting the station.<br />

Speech Synthesis DTMF Receiver Test (#163)<br />

A series of dual-tone multifrequency (DTMF) tones are conferenced from the TDM bus into the<br />

port’s DTMF receiver <strong>and</strong> checked to see if the correct tones have been detected during the<br />

correct intervals. If every DTMF tone was detected correctly, the <strong>test</strong> passes. If any of the tones<br />

were not detected correctly, the <strong>test</strong> fails.<br />
