Remote PNs<br />

A DS1 converter complex can provide connectivity to a remotely located port network. The DS1<br />

converter complex consists of two TN574 DS1 converter (DS1C) circuit packs connected by 1<br />

to 4 DS1 facilities. The DS1C complex is administered as a fiber link.<br />

The SNI circuit pack has red, green, <strong>and</strong> yellow LEDs. The red <strong>and</strong> green LEDs have the usual<br />

meaning, with red signifying an on-board alarm, <strong>and</strong> green signifying maintenance <strong>test</strong>ing in<br />

progress. The red <strong>and</strong> green LEDs will come on <strong>and</strong> then turn off when the circuit pack is reset.<br />

Note:<br />

Note: If the red LED is on without any alarms active against the circuit pack, replace the<br />

SNI circuit pack. This indicates that SNI firmware has detected a fault <strong>and</strong> is<br />

unable to notify software.<br />

The yellow LED indicates status information:<br />
