This <strong>test</strong> checks the circuitry involved in the data path of a peer-to-peer IP layer connection. The<br />

Signaling Path PING <strong>test</strong> determines the local C-LAN through which the signaling originates<br />

<strong>and</strong> the endpoint’s IP address. It then requests the local C-LAN to execute a PING on the<br />

endpoint’s address. If the PING is successful, the <strong>test</strong> passes. If the PING is not successful, the<br />

<strong>test</strong> fails.<br />

1427 ABORT This <strong>test</strong> does not apply to OPTIM stations. This <strong>error</strong> can be ignored.<br />

FAIL The endpoint is not successfully registered.<br />

1. Verify that the user is entering the:<br />

● correct extension <strong>and</strong> security code<br />

● correct IP address of the C-LAN<br />

2. Verify that the extension has been enabled for IP Softphone<br />

operation.<br />

3. If several endpoints cot register, investigate any <strong>error</strong>s of the C-LAN<br />

Ethernet port.<br />

4. Examine the Ethernet cabling from the endpoint PC to the Ethernet<br />

hub.<br />

PASS The endpoint is successfully registered <strong>and</strong> continues to respond to<br />

registration h<strong>and</strong>shaking.<br />

Note:<br />

failures of this <strong>test</strong> can take the IP Station out of service.<br />
