TDM Looparound Test (#1285)
This test is destructive.
This test verifies whether the VAL or C-LAN port can send and receive data on the TDM bus.
This test requests a tone generator to send tones on a timeslot and a tone receiver to receive
tones on another timeslot. The tones are looped through the PPP port. The test passes if the
received tones match the tones that were sent. The test fails if the tones do not match.
A test failure indicates failure of one or more of the following components:
● C-LAN (TN799DP) circuit pack
● VAL (TN2501) circuit pack
● TDM bus
Description / Recommendation
FAIL Link integrity lost due to problem with attachment of Ethernet cable to the
port.
1. Repeat the test.
2. If the test fails, verify that the cable properly is secured to the
Ethernet port and to the bus.
3. Verify the C-LAN circuit pack’s link integrity LED is lit.
4. Retry the test.
5. If problem persists, see the Ethernet Local Looparound Test (#1278)
repair procedures.
PASS The Link Integrity Test passed.

This test runs on PPP-PT (Control LAN Packet/Port) and VAL-PT (Voice Announcements over
LAN Packet/Port).
