PLAT-ALM (Platform Alarms)<br />

The PLAT-ALM is a virtual MO used by Communication Manager to keep track of its server <strong>and</strong><br />

media gateway alarms.<br />

Note:<br />

Note: “CMG” can be seen in some media gateway traps.<br />

If there is an alarm against PLAT-ALM, do the following:<br />

1. Access the server’s Linux comm<strong>and</strong> line by entering the SAT comm<strong>and</strong> go shell.<br />

2. Log into the server’s Linux shell.<br />

3. View the server’s current list of alarms by entering almdisplay -v.<br />

the almdisplay comm<strong>and</strong> returns a failure message, such as:<br />

almdisplay: 4: Unable to connect to Multifilament<br />

enter man almdisplay for comm<strong>and</strong>-related information.<br />

4. Troubleshoot <strong>and</strong> clear the problems by following the procedures for the maintenance<br />

object listed under either:<br />

- <strong>Avaya</strong> Aura Communication Manager Server Alarms (03-602798)<br />

- Gateway Traps for the G250/G350/G430/G450/G700 <strong>Avaya</strong> S8xxxx Servers<br />

(03-602803)<br />

An alternative procedure for an alarm against PLAT-ALM requires the following steps:<br />

1. Log into the server’s Web interface.<br />

2. View the server’s current list of alarms by clicking on the Display Alarms option.<br />

3. Troubleshoot <strong>and</strong> clear the problems by following the procedures for the appropriate MOs<br />

listed in the display.<br />

repairing the server or media gateway, use the Linux comm<strong>and</strong> almclear<br />

to manually clear every server or media gateway alarm. This action will also clear<br />

any alarms associated with PLAT-ALM. See Clearing Server Alarms in <strong>Avaya</strong><br />

Aura Communication Manager Server Alarms (03-602798).<br />
