Backing Up to the PCMCIA Disk<br />

Table 166: Backing up TN802 administration data details how to back up administration data<br />

for the IP trunk application to <strong>and</strong> restored from the local PCMCIA disk <strong>and</strong> the Ethernet port.<br />

Before backing up, be sure to shut down the application running on the circuit pack, following<br />

the procedures in Shutting Down NT on the TN802.<br />

location (the address of the TN802 circuit pack)<br />

Note:<br />

restore of a complete system from the PCMCIA disk should not require<br />

more than 20 minutes assuming that a replacement MAPD pack is available <strong>and</strong><br />

pre-loaded with the IP trunk application software.<br />

Restoring Data from the PCMCIA Disk<br />

Before You Start<br />

At the Windows 2000 desktop, double-click on the IP Trunk<br />

Backup Restore icon.<br />

The IP Trunk Backup/Restore Utility screen appears.<br />

3. Select utility In the IP Trunk Backup/Restore Utility dialog screen, click on<br />

Files > Backup.<br />

The IP Trunk Backup screen appears.<br />

4. Select backup In the IP Trunk Backup screen, click on the Backup button.<br />

5. Wait Backup can take as much as 20 minutes to complete.<br />

6. Release circuit pack On the S8700 Media Server terminal, enter release board<br />

location (the address of the TN802 circuit pack)<br />

1. Shut down the application running on the circuit pack. See Shutting Down NT on the<br />

TN802.<br />

2. Remove the defective IP Trunk circuit pack from the switch (if applicable).<br />

3. Install the replacement IP Trunk circuit pack in the switch (if applicable).<br />
