Verify NIC Options Test (#1511)<br />

FAIL The <strong>test</strong> tone was successfully sent from the IP Media Processor<br />

specified in the <strong>test</strong> comm<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> received by an IP Media Processor<br />

in the PN specified in the <strong>error</strong> code XX.<br />

The <strong>test</strong> tone was not successfully sent in the reverse direction.<br />

Destination to source direction failed. Source to destination direction<br />

passed.<br />

1. Resolve all other board alarms for the specified source IP Media<br />

Processor.<br />

2. Resolve all other board alarms for the IP Media Processors in the<br />

destination PN.<br />

3. Use ping <strong>and</strong> traceroute to localize the problem to the<br />

customer’s LAN/WAN IP network.<br />

PASS The customer network is functioning properly. The <strong>test</strong> tone was<br />

transmitted <strong>and</strong> received successfully between the IP Media Processor<br />

specified in the <strong>test</strong> comm<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> every other IP Media Processor in<br />

the set of connected IP network regions.<br />

The Verify NIC Options Test checks if the circuit pack’s network interface parameters<br />

(auto-negotiate, speed, <strong>and</strong> duplex) match with its administration.<br />

The <strong>test</strong> passes if the NIC parameters match circuit pack administration. The <strong>test</strong> fails if the NIC<br />

parameters do not match.<br />

This <strong>test</strong> runs on IPMEDPRO (IP Media Processor) <strong>and</strong> ETH-PT (Control LAN Ethernet).<br />
