1. UU is the universal cabinet number listed in the PORT field of the Alarm or Error Log.<br />

EMG-XFER (Emergency Transfer)<br />

The maintenance software for Emergency Transfer monitors the position of the Emergency<br />

Transfer switch(es) on the EPNs’ Maintenance circuit packs. It does not monitor whether the<br />

system is actually in Emergency Transfer.<br />

Emergency Transfer (ET) provides the ability to connect designated analog phones to CO<br />

trunks when the switch cot provide minimal phone service.<br />

Emergency Transfer is automatically controlled by the system or can be manually controlled via<br />

the Emergency Transfer switch located on the Maintenance circuit pack. A manual ON position<br />

(up) generates a Major alarm. A manual OFF position (down) generates a Warning alarm.<br />

Unless a technician is currently working on the system, the switch should be left in the auto<br />

position.<br />

Emergency Transfer Status<br />

The status cabinet UU comm<strong>and</strong> shows the location of the ET switches <strong>and</strong> the current<br />

status of ET in the designated cabinet as follows:<br />
