FAIL Firmware problem.<br />

1. This may be the result of old firmware not supporting new<br />

software operation. Verify the IPSI circuit pack’s firmware vintage<br />

<strong>and</strong> download the new firmware if appropriate.<br />

2. The firmware image on the IPSI circuit pack may have been<br />

corrupted. Download the firmware image.<br />

3. Retry the comm<strong>and</strong>.<br />

4. If the same Error Code occurs:<br />

The st<strong>and</strong>by IPSI’s Packet Interface module has bad<br />

translation RAM locations. A MINOR alarm is generated<br />

when the number of bad locations is between 1 <strong>and</strong> 4. A<br />

MAJOR alarm is generated if the number of bad locations is<br />

5 or more. The MAJOR alarm prevents a pled IPSI<br />

interchange (scheduled or on-dem<strong>and</strong>).<br />

If a MAJOR alarm is associated with this <strong>error</strong>, replace the<br />

alarmed st<strong>and</strong>by IPSI circuit pack.<br />

If a MINOR alarm is associated with this <strong>error</strong>, replace the<br />

alarmed st<strong>and</strong>by IPSI circuit pack at a time that would cause<br />

the least disruption to service.<br />

PASS The server can communicate with the IPSI circuit pack’s Packet<br />

Interface module.<br />

1. If problems are still reported on the Packet Interface, check for<br />

failures using the Packet Interface Private Looparound Test<br />

(#885) <strong>and</strong> Packet Interface Maintenance Looparound Test<br />

(#886).<br />

Description / Recommendation<br />

The IPSI circuit pack’s Packet Interface module is administered, but is<br />

not detected as physically present.<br />

1. If the IPSI circuit pack is present, replace it.<br />

2. If the IPSI circuit pack is not present, insert a TN2312AP IPSI<br />

circuit pack in the administered slot, <strong>and</strong> rerun the <strong>test</strong>.<br />
