Abstract
The article aims to present, by way of reflection, constant feature that accompanies the
process of entrepreneurship: risk, as seen from the development and conceptualization of its
basic components: launch and entrepreneur. In this sense, the paper first develops an
approach to the term entrepreneurship, based on such elements, secondly, presents a look at
some of the approaches of entrepreneurship from economics, humanities and sciences of
management and the organization. Similarly, some forms are related to entrepreneurship.
Thirdly, there is a review of the venture in Colombia which could be considered abstract
and also ways to manage risk. The development of Article fails to take, under the field of
management and organization, associated with other positions, an independent concept of
entrepreneurship and a methodology to investigate risks, focusing on the process of
entrepreneurship and based on the IDB, whose stages are entrelazarían different risk
factors.

1. EMPRENDIMIENTO
El término emprendimiento tiene múltiples acepciones; sin embargo, se percibe en la
revisión literaria que hay un consenso entre los autores al informar que emprendimiento es
un efecto de la actividad “emprender”; por tal razón, no forma parte del diccionario de la
RAE * . Se trata de una “acción para llevar adelante una obra que se desarrolla con mucho
esfuerzo y en la que se sobrepasan diversas dificultades, pero con la firme decisión de
llegar a un punto” 96 .
Si se trata del efecto de la acción emprender, es importante comprender su terminología
como el primer componente en emprendimiento, al igual que la del término emprendedor
como el segundo. Así, en este acápite, el texto recoge las definiciones de los términos
emprender y emprendedor; y, en esta forma, poder tener una orientación hacia
emprendimiento
