Essas palavras descrevem uma emoção de regozijo, que encontra expressão no cantar
e no gritar. É algo impróprio para o aflito (Jr 15.17) e para aquele que pecou (Jr 11.15).
Em contraste, é uma reação natural do fiel (Sl 149.5), e também atribuída ao próprio
Deus (Sl 60.6 [8] = Sl 108.7 [8]). Quando aplicada aos ímpios (Sl 94.3) e aos inimigos de
Israel (2 Sm 1.20; Is 23.12; Jr 50.11), o vocábulo indica uma espécie de satisfação
perversa.
